The HTC One now comes in gold (but not real gold this time)

HTC One Gold SmallHTC has added another colour to its growing range of HTC One models, and this time it’s tapping into one of this year’s most fashionable shades, gold. Gold phones have been around for years, but few have created so much of a stir as Apple’s gold iPhone 5S, which was rapidly followed by a golden Samsung Galaxy S4.

Now it’s HTC’s turn to go for gold, following a limited edition device it launched for the MOBO awards earlier this year. While that phone was actually made of gold, and had a price of more than £2500, the new One is only gold coloured, and should have the same price tag as other models.

The gold looks attractive enough, with HTC choosing a subtle shade, although we’d still go for either beautiful red or blue models, should the standard black or silver HTC One’s not be quite striking enough.

Gold colouring aside, the HTC One is still the same as ever, so expect a 4.7-inch display with a 1080p resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, and HTC’s UltraPixel camera. The aluminium body remains one of the best looking smartphones out there.

We’re still waiting for a final release date from HTC, but through its UK-specific Twitter account, the company has confirmed we’ll be able to buy the gold One in the near future. Will you be tempted by the gold HTC One?
