Now you can buy unlocked smartphones through GiffGaff

GiffGaff phonesAt the beginning of the month, GiffGaff confirmed it would start selling smartphones alongside its great value SIM-only mobile network. Although it said at the time there was a hope of launching them before the end of November, it was aiming to get them on sale before the end of the year, but it appears GiffGaff has been working hard.

If you visit GiffGaff’s website, you’ll find a large selection of unlocked smartphones for sale, either at full, SIM-only price, or with a monthly payment option. Of course, this being GiffGaff, there’s the opportunity to buy a SIM and a “Goody Bag” of texts, talk and data for your new phone too..

So how’s the pricing? The most expensive phone on sale is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which costs a whopping £600 if you just want to own the phone outright. If you’d rather pay monthly, there are a wealth of options provided by RateSetter. You can choose the amount of repayments from 6, 12, 18 and 24, and how much money you’d like to pay up front. If you chose to pay £50, you’ll have 24 monthly payments of £25.14.

At the other end of the scale is the Samsung Galaxy Young for £95 SIM-free, and hanging around in the middle is the Galaxy S3 for £318, the LG G2 for £455, the Sony Xperia Z for £461 and the Nokia 1020 for £525. Various phones are also 4G compatible, which GiffGaff will introduce at some point next year.
