Motorola Teases Moto G smartphone announcement for November 13

Moto GMotorola has published a teaser for its next smartphone release. Coming via its official Motorola Mobility Twitter account, the message says “Time to say hola, g’day, hallo, bonjour, namaste to #MotoG.” The accompanying picture shows the Motorola logo over a planet, and a reminder for us to save November 13 on our calendars.

A link to the Moto G website shows an animated version of the tweeted image, along with the chance to sign-up for an online announcement event on the above date. So, it’s no secret Motorola will launch a device called the Moto G on November 13.

While Motorola may have confirmed the name of the device, a previous leak has given us a good idea of its specification. Supposedly sourced from a Phones4U brochure, the Moto G is an Android smartphone running version 4.3 Jelly Bean, which will be out in time for Christmas.

It’s not going to be the highest-spec phone around, as it’s said to have a 4.5-inch, 720p touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera, and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. However, the rumoured price tag is around £135 without a contract, making it good value.

Motorola hasn’t launched much hardware internationally recently, preferring to concentrate on the U.S. market, however the promo image and wording of the tweet suggests the Moto G is going to be different. We’ll find out everything we want to know on November 13, and look forward to a proper return to the UK from Motorola.
