LG announced last month it would be holding an event in New York on August 7, though it did so with little fanfare, presumably as it was a very early call. Now, with a little less than a month to go, it has got into the spirit of the thing and not only given us a proper invitation, but also released a quick teaser video.
The phone we’re all expecting is known as the LG G2, the sequel to the Optimus G, which despite being announced in 2012, never made it into UK stores until March this year. The G2 is, as is usually the case, likely to be bigger and better than the Optimus G, however a recent rumour has suggested LG will be dropping the Optimus name from all its top-of-the-range phones.
If you take a look at the event invitation, the letter G and the number 2 are both slightly larger than the other letters, leaving us in little doubt we’ll be seeing the G2. Otherwise, the image doesn’t give anything away. Moving on to the video, which you can see below, and it’s equally cryptic. Shot in New York, it shows a person walking around the city and seeing the words, “To me, you are perfect. From G” printed in all kinds of places. We’re not sure if it has much bearing on the phone, and we couldn’t spot any hidden messages either.
You can check out the video below, and we’ll bring you news of the LG G2, or whatever it’s going to be called, on August 7.
