The leaves are shades of orange and red, there’s a chill in the air and some irritating people (not us, promise) are already creating Christmas playlists, yep, it’s well and truly Autumn here in the UK.
We’re used to it being far too cold on our dear little island, so we’re sure plenty of you didn’t even bother to put away your coats, hats, scarves and gloves over summer. However, if you’re still feeling that chill in the air then there are some cool little gadgets an handy accessories available to ensure you stay cosy as the temperature drops.
Here are some of our favourites, to keep your coffee, your hands and those little ears snuggly.
Hot-Rox Electronic Hand Warmer
Most hand warmers are cute little liquid packs, that you “crack” or pop in the microwave to get a few minutes of warmth to your mittens. However, this gadget from Hot-Rox can be switched on and off, heating up to a snuggly 44° in 15 seconds flat. You can then just flick the switch off again and it’ll cool right down in the same amount of time. MAGIC.
It’d make a great coat pocket treat or desk friend when you get into the office early and just need a bit of warmth before you start typing away.
The current battery charge will last hours and once it’s run out of juice you can simply just plug it into the mains or a USB to ensure it’s toasty again.
The Hot-Rox Warmer is available from Firebox for £22.99.
They come in a range of different colours and fit snuggly round the back of your neck, which is apparently the coolest and most practical way (no messy hair!) to wear ear-muffs right now, who knew?
The Hear-Muffs connect up to iPods and iPhones, as well as most other phones and MP3 players with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Hear-Muffs are available from John Lewis for £15.
Now these quirky little things (that look a bit like metal coffee beans, right?) may seem expensive, but they’re REALLY clever, making super hot drinks drinkable and cold drinks warmer. Wow science, you’ve really outdone yourself this time.
The Joulies contain what’s called a Phase Change Material inside, which means at a certain temperature (one that’s too hot for you mouth) it melts, drawing the heat from the drink around it. However, it then releases the energy much slower back out, ensuring your cuppa doesn’t get too cold at the same time.
OK so we don’t have to properly understand them to know they’re pretty cool…
The Coffee Joulies are available from Firebox for £49.99.
USB Cup Warmer
If you often find your lovely, warm and seasonal hot drinks get cold far too quickly at work, then the USB cup warmer is for you. Just plug it into your computer and it’ll keep that salted caramel mocha wotsit warm for much, much longer.
It’s a great idea for a silly secret santa present too!
The USB Cup Warmer is available from Firebox for £9.99.
Zippo Deluxe Hand Warmer
The Zippo Hand Warmer is available from Gizoo for £15.95.
