Best iPhone Apps of 2015

It’s been another bonanza year for the iPhone gang – which welcomed the feature-packed 6S and 6S Plus to the fold – so we’ve pulled together a round up of the best iPhone apps for making the most of your favourite smartphone.

Any.do

There’s nothing new about apps designed to help you stay on top of your to-do list, but Any.do puts such a sweet and simple spin on the genre that it’s quickly becoming a top contender. Syncing easily across all your devices, the app allows you to create calm, comprehensive lists that can be stored separate sections – so you can keep your work tasks separate from your shopping lists or holiday plans. Once a task has been completed, you simply swipe it away from your list and move on to the next one.

Live GIF

Instagram lovers, Twitter sharers and selfie-takers will love the way this neat little app takes advantage of the iPhone’s new Live Photos feature. With Live GIF, you can quickly and easily turn the second and a half of audio and video you take before and after pressing the shutter with Live Photos into an easily exportable and sharable GIF – so you can iMessage it to friends, pop it on Facebook or email it to a friend. Let hilarity ensue!

Lifesum

If you’re not backing up your exercise regime with a healthy diet, it doesn’t matter how many times you hit the gym or how many lengths you do in the pool – you’ll never get the results you’re looking for. Lifesum helps you find the right balance between working out and healthy eating, with a great range of intuitive diet and exercise plans. Start building good habits in small, essential stages and reach your health goals in a way that will help you stick with them.

Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector

This adorable and slightly eccentric iPhone game is already huge in Japan. A recent update brought us a localised English version and now people up and down the UK are furnishing their virtual back gardens with toys and food in the hope of attracting stray cats (nekos) to come along and play for a while. A cute, hand drawn style and a relaxing gaming experience makes Neko Atsume a fun way to bust stress.

Periscope

Named Apple’s top app of the year, Periscope is the perfect way to keep abreast of talks, sporting events and special occasions – even when they’re on the other side of the world. It’s a live video streaming app that lets you watch – or broadcast – videos in real time. It’s also got some great social aspects (it is owned by Twitter after all) and you can build follower lists, receive hearts when people love your videos and easily find what you want to be watching.

Installed Periscope to Samsung Note android phone and took some photos. Connect with me at http://jimmakos.com/photography
